Charlie Hunnam Sends ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Video Message to Comic-Con

Charlie Hunnam couldn’t be at Comic-Con with the rest of the cast of “Sons of Anarchy,’’ but he sent along a video message to make up for his absence.

In the video Hunnam (Jax) speaks to the audience from a massage table while getting a rub down from co-star Mark Boone Junior (Bobby) and a manicure from Tommy Flanagan (Chibs).

“Hello, lovely people of Comic-Con,’’ Hunnam starts. “I’m recording you this message because unfortunately I can’t be with you this year. I hate to miss Comic-Con on the final season of the show, but for the future and safety of America my presence is required elsewhere.’’

Kim Coates (Tig) makes a cameo toward the end bringing Hunnam a glass of cucumber water, adding to the list of servants catering to Hunnam’s every need in the satirical take on their off-screen friendship.

Junior, Flanagan, and Coates were on hand for the “Sons’’ panel at Comic-Con, along with castmates Katey Sagal (Gemma), Dayton Callie (Wayne), Theo Rossi (Juice), and David Labrava (Happy) and the show’s creator, Kurt Sutter.

“Sons of Anarchy’’ returns to FX on Sept. 9 at 10 p.m. for its seventh and final season.
