Louis C.K. will test his wits on Jeopardy! in May

The Newton native is playing for a good cause.

Answer: This comedian and Newton native will appear on an upcoming episode of Jeopardy! this May.

Question: Who is Louis C.K.?

C.K. will be appearing on Jeopardy!’s Power Players Week, which will air from May 16-20. According to a release posted on the show’s website, the 15 famous contestants selected include “some of the country’s most influential journalists, commentators, and newsmakers, along with a best-selling author, an innovative comedian, and a sitting United States senator.”

C.K. is one of the few participants not directly involved in media or politics, with other contestants including CNN host Anderson Cooper, Minnesota Senator Al Franken, and 60 Minutes correspondent Lara Logan.

Contestants will earn $50,000 for the charity of their choice by winning their game, while all participants will score their chosen charity a minimum of $10,000. C.K. will play for the Fistula Foundation, a nonprofit devoted to helping sufferers of obstetric fistula, a childbirth injury caused by prolonged, unrelieved obstructed labor, according to the organization’s website.

C.K. probably hopes he performs a little better than his character did on Saturday Night Live’s Black Jeopardy.
