Ted Cruz says he cried during the new Star Wars movie

The Republican candidate talked about his first-ever concert, too.

Republican Candidate Ted Cruz took a break from town halls and his tumultuous race with fellow candidate Donald Trump to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night.

Kimmel peppered Cruz with questions, but not the kind he’s been asked on the campaign trail.

How many Star Wars movies has Cruz seen? “All of them,” he said.

His favorite cereal?

“Serial killer or cereal?” Cruz asked, making a reference to an Internet conspiracy theory that Cruz is the Zodiac Killer. His real answer: Mueslix.

The last movie that made him cry?

“I would almost say the last Star Wars movie,” Cruz said. “I mean, I stood in line for two hours for Empire Strikes Back. Han Solo was my hero—I’m not going to spoil it but I’ll just say there was an image in that movie that was traumatic at a level I never wanted to see.”

“I’m with you too,” Kimmel said. “I was almost embarrassed when the tears started to well up in my eyes.”

And how about the first concert Cruz ever went to?

“Men at Work,” Cruz said. “I was in junior high and my mother insisted on going, and it was the tamest concert on earth. I mean, it really was the perfect concert to bring your mom to.”
