Take note, kids: Sometimes pranking your brother does pay off. Well, at least it did for Taylor Suozzo of Bedford, N.H.

When Suozzo’s older brother came home from college, she decided to welcome him by covering his bedroom in wrapping paper. She covered the entire room — from the bed and pillows to the dresser — in holiday wrapping paper. Suozzo’s mom, Jana, took a picture of the prank and entered the photo in a contest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.’’

The prank won Ellen’s Scotch Brand’s Most Gifted Wrapper Contest and the family was invited to come onto the stage during Friday’s show to receive their prize of $16,000.

During the segment, Jana told DeGeneres that she stopped working to take care of her late husband when he got sick and was struggling financially. DeGeneres then surprised the family with an additional $20,000.
