“What do you get when you combine dozens of beers with one drunk? A revolution,”  a voiceover announced over footage of Conan O’Brien hoisting up a beer pitcher at the Samuel Adams Brewery.

The Brookline native visited the Jamaica Plain tap room in a new segment for his show, where he linked up with Jim Koch, the company’s founder.

O’Brien’s shenanigans at the local spot included pretending to steal hops in hopes that Koch would hand over the brewery in a ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’-esque scenario, and convincing two employees to touch beards.

“This is insane,” O’Brien said as six employees sporting bountiful facial hair gathered around him. “This is an adult version of Santa’s workshop.”

And, of course, the TV personality couldn’t leave without tasting some beers.

He started out tasting the 28 options on tap one at a time, but after two he had a new plan.

“Gentlemen, I have a solution,” O’Brien announced as he began to add a little bit of each blend to a pitcher and drink straight from it.

“This is what Samuel Adams was all about. This is my Declaration of Independence,” O’Brien declared as Koch shook his head in his hands.
