Uzo Aduba, John Slattery among Boston natives cast in ‘Mrs. America’

On Tuesday, FX announced additional cast members for the network’s new Cate Blanchett-led miniseries, “Mrs. America.’’

Created and written by Dahvi Waller (“Mad Men,’’ “Halt and Catch Fire’’), the series follows the ’70s movement to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. Blanchett will play conservative opponent Phyllis Schlafly.

Cast additions include Medfield native Uzo Aduba as Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, Wellesley native Ari Graynor as activist Brenda Feigen-Fasteau, and Boston native John Slattery as Fred Schlafly, among others.

FX also announced that “Captain Marvel’’ co-writers and directors Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck have signed on as executive producers and will direct the first two episodes.

“Mrs. America’’ will premiere on FX in 2020.
