Watch: Stephen Colbert mocks proposed ‘Straight Pride Parade’ in Boston, praises Smash Mouth

“If you’re wondering the difference between the Gay Pride Parade and the Straight Pride Parade, the Gay Pride Parade will have women at it.”

Stephen Colbert took aim at the proposal for a “Straight Pride Parade” in Boston on Wednesday night’s episode of “The Late Show.”

“If you’re wondering the difference between the Gay Pride Parade and the Straight Pride Parade, the Gay Pride Parade will have women at it,” the host said.

Organizers have not received the required permits from the City of Boston, and the event proposal has been widely condemned and mocked online in recent days. During his show, Colbert cheered the response to the parade proposal from Smash Mouth.

“Straight Pride Parade????? F*** OFF!!!!!!!!” the band tweeted on Tuesday.

“Thank you for taking a stand, Smash Mouth, you truly are the Rosa Parks of early ’90s pop rock,” Colbert joked.
