Here’s what late-night TV hosts said about Trump’s attacks against ‘the Squad’

"A new personal best in being the worst."

Late-night TV took on President Donald Trump’s recent attacks against ‘the Squad’ on Monday after the president spent the day defending his words. Here’s what some of the hosts had to say.

‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’

Stephen Colbert said the tweets were no surprise but definitely Trump’s “personal best in being the worst.”

“If that strikes you as a little racist,” he said, “you do not know the meaning of the word ‘little.’”

‘The Daily Show with Trevor Noah’

Trevor Noah said it seems like Trump doesn’t believe persons of color can also be American, but he of all people should understand being two things at once.

“He’s bald and has a full head of hair,” Noah said. “It doesn’t make sense, but we accept it.”

‘Late Night with Seth Meyers’

Seth Meyers narrowed in on the president telling the congresswomen to “go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came.”

“This is beside the point, but, dude, you’re from Queens,” Meyers said. “I would say you should go back and fix it, but I don’t think any of the trains are running.”

‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Jimmy Kimmel took the optimist’s route, talking about the helpful window Twitter provides into Trump’s mind.

“Without Twitter, we would just have to wonder if our president had racist thoughts on every subject,” Kimmel said. “But now we can read those thoughts every day!”
