A panel discussion and opening reception for the exhibition “1 in 3: Comparative Perspectives on Gender Violence” will feature participating artists Juan Jose Barboza-Gubo, Ambreen Butt, Nona Faustine and Andrew Mroczek, moderated by deCordova curator Sarah Montross.
The discussion and exhibition are part of a larger initiative to bring attention to the topic of violence against women, including a day-long conference at Lesley on Nov. 9. Join us for the panel discussion, followed by an opening reception for the exhibition and conference in the Lunder Arts Center from 7:30-9 pm.
“1 in 3” is organized by professors Meenakshi Chhabra, Lisa Fiore and Sonia Perez-Villanueva, and presents works across media by artists addressing themes associated with violence against women, including Siona Benjamin, Ambreen Butt, Catriona Baker, Nona Faustine, Annu Palakunnathu Matthew and Katherine Shozawa.
