An Evening with Christopher Hunter a special performance of gospel music, featuring Christopher Hunter of the vocal ensemble "We Three Kings"

Join us at BAM to mark the opening of "Do Lord Remember Me: The Black Church in Rhode Island," an exhibition researched and designed by Robb Dimmick and directed by Ray Rickman of Stages of Freedom in Providence, RI.

​The evening will begin at 6:30 pm with a selection of A Capella songs by local gospel singer, Ladysarah Harmon, followed by a performance from Christopher Hunter, vocalist and member of the local ensemble "We Three Kings." Christopher Hunter has been singing gospel music and spirituals for over 30 years. His voice work was developed in Seattle, Washington, while serving as Baritone-in-Residence with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Male Chorus. There, he worked under the guidance of Mr. Lavert Woodard, a classically trained baritone/bass.

As a classically trained pianist, Christopher has served as a church musician, Minister of Music, youth choir pianist, and a male chorus pianist and director. Christoper holds a B.S. Degree is in Physics from Morehouse College, an M.S. Degree in Transportation Engineering and a Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering, both from the University of Washington. He is currently an associate professor of civil and environmental engineering at URI.

Seating is unassigned, so please arrive early if selection is important to you. You may reserve your seat in advance. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door. 

Following the performance, guests will enjoy a reception and self-guided viewing of the featured exhibition.
