Aston Magna: Music in the Age of Peter Paul Rubens

With projections of Rubens’ paintings, Aston Magna performs music from Holland, Italy, England and Spain by Caccini, Frescobaldi, Marin, Arañes and others, with Dr. Richard Savino, Director. Musicians include Daniel Stepner and Danielle Maddon, baroque violin; Richard Savino, guitar and theorbo; Catherine Liddell, guitar and theorbo; Laura Jeppesen, viola da gamba; Jennifer Kampani, soprano; Deborah Rentz-Moore, mezzo-soprano; Ryland Angel, voice

Now in in its 47th season, Aston Magna is the nation’s longest-running summer festival of music performed on period instruments. The 2019 season includes the finest artists who are specialists in historical performance. The music of Bach, Pachelbel, Mozart, Castello, Purcell, Beethoven, Schubert, and others drive a dynamic program.
