The members of the Ceramics Guild of LexArt will be presenting their work in the “The Nature of Clay” an exhibit that can be seen in the Parson’s Gallery from June 8th to the 23rd.
This diverse group of ceramists will be taking their inspiration from forms in the flora and fauna of nature. Pieces displayed will be functional, sculptural and decorative with an emphasis on garden ornamentation. The expressive work of these skilled and talented artists represents many interesting techniques such as raku, wood firing, reduction and oxidation firing, all of which bring out the subtle and the sublime of clay.
Many of the pieces in the exhibit are for sale as well as a Gallery to Go display.
The “Nature of Clay” is participating in the Lexington Field and Garden Club’s annual Garden Tour, “Lexington Gardens Blossom” which occurs on Saturday June 15th from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm. You can find out more about how to obtain tickets for the garden tour at www.LexGardenClub.org .
