Event Details

Share your vision for the hospital of the future.

At this first-of-its-kind event, HUBweek, the Museum of Science, Boston Children’s Hospital, Hacking Pediatrics, and Microsoft invite children and their families to join us in reimagining the future of health. Using the beloved game of Minecraft, participants and patients from Boston Children’s Hospital will work together to build the hospital of the future in worlds created specially for this event. Children will be encouraged to think creatively and to build spaces that promote fun, health, and happiness.

Some of the end designs will be incorporated into a 3D printed model of the hospital of the future and displayed in Boston.

There will be two sessions held throughout the day. Space is limited and we ask that attendees sign up for one session only to allow more children to participate. The recommended age for participants is 5-20 years old and the event is BYOD (bring your own device). Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Attendees will have access to 700 interactive exhibits in the museum throughout the day on Saturday, 10/1.

There will be two, two-hour Hackathon sessions held in the morning and afternoon:

Morning session: 9:30 - 11:30 AM

Afternoon session: 12:00 - 2:00 PM.

Space is limited and we ask that attendees sign up for one session only to allow more children to participate. Please also be sure to read the FAQs provided.
