New Hampshire Theatre Project’s 30 Anniversary Seasoncontinues in 2019 with David Ives’ witty, romantic and absurd exploration of language andtime. The production is made up of sixshort “playlets” that play with themes both familiar and ridiculous, and hasbeen hailed as enchanting, perplexing, incisively intelligent andside-splittingly funny.
Director Blair Hundertmark says, “Ives ingeniously exploreslanguage, time and relationships by whipping them together in a cosmic comicblender.The six scenes range broadlyand been called offbeat, poetic, witty,satirical, surreal, and touching, but above all- funny!Ives is a master of language, and in thisplay he effortlessly and smartly weaves together a fresh look at relationshipsboth realistic (meeting in a cafe) and not so realistic (monkeys typing in aresearch cage).”Hundertmark adds, "Isaw the original production in New York 25 years ago, and I recall beingspellbound by the brilliant writing and comic talent. It was legitimately thehottest ticket in town. And it still holds up."
