Event Details

The Migratory Bird Treaty Act was signed in 1918 and has served as the basis for much of the protection of our wild birds for 100 years. To celebrate the centennial of this important law, Kurk Dorsey will present an illustrated talk about the surprising story of how the federal government found itself in the business of protecting migratory wildlife. Such colorful characters as Woodrow Wilson, William Hornaday, and Mabel Osgood Wright played important roles in the drama. This is the Seacoast Chapter annual business meeting for the election of  executive board officers. 7 pm Refreshments.  Entrance doors  are locked at 7:45 pm. See website for any cancellations.  Photo credit: US Fish & Wildlife Service/Susan Rachlin.
