The South Shore Natural Science Center is pleased to announce the exhibit “Time and Tide… Contemporary Paper Marbling” by Canton artist Christina Hajosy. The show opens August 27 and runs through October 6, 2019. The Opening Reception will be Thursday, September 5 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the Vine Hall Gallery. The public is invited and light refreshments will be served.
There will be a workshop for people interested in learning more on Saturday, September 7 from 12-4:30pm. Participants will have the opportunity to work with Cristina and try out various techniques, and take home their own pieces. This workshop will explore the decorative art of paper marbling. Focus will be on Turkish-style marbling. This method, “Ebru”, can produce lovely figurative designs of fish, flowers, birds, and abstract shapes or the traditional combed patterns. The floating designs may be free-form, combed, or even blown. Advance registration is required. For registration information, please visit www.ssnsc.org or call 781-659-2559.
