Author and star of the globetrotting Netflix documentary “Salt Fat Acid Heat,’’ Samin Nosrat’s next stop is a bit more local. The Emerson Colonial Theatre announced Monday that the chef will be in town for a conversation and book signing on May 1.

Tickets, from $35-$45, go on sale to the general public Friday, Mar. 15. There will also be a small number of $75 tickets for the “VIP experience’’: a glass of Veuve Cliquot champagne and the chance to meet Nosrat before the show.

“Salt Fat Acid Heat’’ — the four-episode documentary that took viewers to Italy, Japan, Mexico, and California in 2018 — was originally a bestselling book in 2017. Both iterations serve as a love letter to the art of cooking and offer up the four secrets to culinary success: salt, fat, acid, and heat.
