Pinkies up!
“The Alice: An Immersive Cocktail Experience” will pop-up at The Merchant next year, bringing a Mad Hatter tea party to the downtown restaurant and bar.
Though the concept bar got its start in Australia, it has since expanded to cities across the U.S., including Denver, New York City, San Francisco, and St. Louis. It makes its Boston debut at The Merchant on Feb. 17, and will run until March 31.
Each ticket ($43/person) includes a 90-minute experience down the rabbit hole, where guests can create their own bespoke cocktails and enjoy an “Eat me!” cupcake, all while solving riddles, going on scavenger hunts, and interacting with the Mad Hatter, March Hare, and White Rabbit.
A quick peek into the themed bar’s social media pages shows lavishly decorated event spaces, with oversized hats, flamingos, and other props that can only be made for Instagram moments. Billowing smoke pours out of teacups, the smiling face of the Cheshire Cat grins eerily over tables filled with flowers, and Alice in Wonderland costumes are embraced by both staff and attendees.
Check out the video below for a deeper look inside Wonderland, and purchase tickets for the event here. Can’t make it to the tea party? The Boston area has an Alice in Wonderland-themed tea room of its own: Alice in the Village in Foxborough.
