Fenway Park was overrun by cured meat on Sunday, as the 2016 Bacon and Beer Festival seared and crackled into the late afternoon.
More than 40 restaurants showed off their bacon-infused wares, including Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, El Pelon, and The Maiden. Even Gracie’s made an appearance, serving up chocolate and whisky ice cream on sugar cones lined with Fluff and bacon bits (bacon and ice cream! They made it work!).
This was the seventh iteration of the Bacon and Beer Festival, which also served as a fundraiser for the Red Sox Foundation (the official charity of the Red Sox), Community Servings (a meal delivery program for people with chronic illnesses), and Lovin’ Spoonfuls, a nonprofit that rescues fresh food that would otherwise be discarded and brings it to community organizations throughout the city.
