Looking for a new restaurant to try this weekend? The Boston Globe Magazine has 37 suggestions you might want to consider.
On Thursday morning, the publication released its picks for the best new restaurants in the Boston area, featuring 37 spots that have opened since December 2017. The list, which is written by Kara Baskin, Devra First, and Sheryl Julian, is broken up into three sections: 24 restaurants in the immediate Boston area, four restaurants that have made a splash in the fast-casual sphere, and nine that are located in the suburbs and worth the drive.
Among the 24 in and around the city, there are restaurants that have won both local and national acclaim. Peruvian spot Celeste, which was one of Esquire’s 2018 Best New Restaurants in America, is on the list, as are space-themed diner Little Dipper, deli and gin bar Our Fathers, Japanese restaurant Kamakura, and Japanese-inspired Whaling in Oklahoma.
The handful of restaurants located in the Boston suburbs that also were given nods were broken up into West of Boston, North of Boston, South of Boston, and East of Boston. Buffalo Jump, a seasonal café in East Falmouth, made the list, along with The Wellington in Belmont and Adelita in Concord.
