The 2019 Stanley Cup Final is underway, and with the Boston Bruins and the St. Louis Blues tied 1-1, Boston’s best-known brewery is hoping a new beer will give the Bruins — or at least their fans — an edge.

Just in time for Game 4 on Monday, Sam Adams will release Black & Gold, a 4.9% ABV, medium-bodied lager with notes of chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt.

Although Game 4 will be held in St. Louis, Black & Gold will only be available at the Sam Adams brewery in Jamaica Plain. The beer will be sold in four packs of 16-ounce cans. While fans can line up at the brewery starting at noon on Monday, cans won’t be sold until 3 p.m., and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a four-pack limit per person.

This isn’t the first time that Sam Adams has paid tribute to a titletown team with a special edition beer. For the 2019 Super Bowl, the brewery released Too Old, Too Slow, Still Here, a nod to Tom Brady and the 2018-2019 Patriots team.
