The message was simple and direct.

“Frogmore is closing at the end of the week,” read a post on The Frogmore’s social media pages. “Come celebrate five years, say goodbye, enjoy Frogmore one last time.”

The Southern-inspired haunt is the latest restaurant to announce its closure this week, leaving its Jamaica Plain home at 365 Centre St. after opening in 2015. The restaurant will remain in operation this week from Wednesday through Sunday, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The Frogmore did not immediately respond to Boston.com’s request for comment.

Decked out in colorful, pineapple-themed wallpaper, The Frogmore specialized in Low Country fare: fried clam strips, fried chicken, grilled okra, and more. In recent weeks, the restaurant offered both indoor and outdoor seating, where diners could purchase a $20 plate that included an entrée, a biscuit, and two sides.

In response to the Facebook announcement, fans of the restaurant shared their disappointment and memories.

“The best fried chicken and waffles in town!” Lindsey Davis wrote. “I’m heartbroken.”

“Honestly, this is devastating,” Erica Desautels shared, while Chris Child lamented, “So sad, our kids’ favorite!”
