Beth McNichols and Frances Kolenik, co-owners and bakers at BakerBaker in West Roxbury, have been recipe-swapping friends and moms for 20 years. The exchange of family classics ultimately led to a neighborhood bakery, which opened in December 2012. The old-fashioned storefront with its original tin ceiling sits on a stretch of West Roxbury where there are many women-owned businesses. At BakerBaker, a simple savory breakfast might be egg cups ($2.29), which is bread, egg, and milk mixed with turkey sausage and cheese, or another version with veggies and feta.
