A Boston duckling rescue, in 11 photos

Crossing a busy city street with children can make any mom nervous, and, unfortunately for one mama duck trying to head across Tremont Street in Roxbury Thursday, one of her 12 feathery, beady-eyed ducklings fell into a sewer.

Luckily, passersby flagged down Boston police officers Dany Matos and Isaac Jackson, who, with the help of the Boston Water and Sewer Commission, were able to scoop up the unlucky duckling. The family was safely brought to Jamaica Pond, the department said.
