Novel set at time of Boston Marathon bombing coming in November

Elizabeth Searle's novel about the marathon bombings

Just before Mark Wahlberg’s Patriots Day debuts in theaters, a novel set during the Boston Marathon bombing will hit shelves in November, The Boston Globe reports.

We Got Him, a novel from Arlington-based writer Elizabeth Searle, tells the story through a fictional Belmont couple who arrive at Mount Auburn Hospital to give birth to their son the same night of the Watertown shootout, according to the Globe.

“The night of the manhunt really struck me… just the sense of terror ordinary people felt, knowing these people were on the loose,” Searle told the Globe.

The book’s title comes from late Boston Mayor Tom Menino’s famous tweet posted the night following the shootout after authorities apprehended Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

A launch for We Got Him is scheduled for November 20 at Newtonville Books.
