The Yankee Candle Co., a Deerfield firm always looking to push the envelope of possibilities for scented candles, said it is launching new summer fragrances engineered to evoke island getaways and exotic umbrella drinks.
The summer line-up often makes use of such scents as citrus, coconut, and vanilla, and one summer offering is “Margarita Time.’’
A company press release offered this description of the new product: “It’s always happy hour with the casual, playful tang of fresh-squeezed lime in a classic margarita.’’
Then there’s Yankee Candle’s “Pineapple & Red Berry Sangria.’’ (Saloon-keeper rule number 12: You can rarely go wrong with drinks the color of baby clothes.)
“Summer is both a time for lively celebration and soothing relaxation,’’ Hope Margala Klein, the company’s executive vice president of brand, design, and innovation, said in a statement. “With seasonal notes of citrus, coconut, and vanilla, bright colors, and eye catching labels, our customers have a variety of ways to express their personal taste in their homes while giving friends and family a warm welcome.’’
