What do all entrepreneurs have in common? Connections. And Mattel’s latest brand ambassador, “Entrepreneur Barbie,’’ will have just that.
Barbie’s page says the plastic doll is a consultant at her latest business venture, “Dream Incubator,’’ which helps girls around the world “play out their imagination, try on different careers, and explore the world around them.’’
The company’s tagline?
“If You Can Dream It, You Can Be It!’’
Barbie’s page displays career tips, her impressive resume and links to real-life successful female entrepreneurs, including Sugarfina candy shop’s Rosie O’Neill and decorating gurus Susan Feldman and Alison Pincus, who founded One Kings Lane, an online home decor site.
The featured female entrepreneurs, or “Chief Inspiration Officers,’’ are showcased to “pave the way for the next generation of women,’’ Barbie’s page states.
Mattel’s creation of the LinkedIn page comes on the heels of the company launching “career doll of the year,’’ Entrepreneur Barbie, who is described as a “smart, stylish career woman’’ complete with her briefcase, tablet and smartphone.
Barbie currently has 2,612 followers, and you can be one of them if you send her a request. Just don’t compare resumes: According to hers, Barbara “Barbie’’ Millicent Roberts has been (among over a hundred other careers), a space explorer, sweets chef, fashion designer and presidential candidate in her 55-year career.
