A new Roche Bros. Brothers Marketplace is planned to open next month in Kendall Square, and buying groceries is just one aspect of visiting the new store.
The new supermarket, set to open on Nov. 12, is set to include locally made products, a station to make your own marinade or salad dressing, and an “innovation station” where new ideas will be tested out by local inventors or businesspeople, according to a news release.
Planned to take up shop at One Broadway, there will be 12,000 square feet of grocery space with another 8,000 square feet dedicated to a kitchen for making prepared food and pastries from scratch, the release said.
Some local businesses planning to sell their products there include The Tea Guys from Whately and Armeno’s coffee. For those in need of a quick meal, the supermarket is set to have a salad bar, hot pretzels, and hot grab-and-go meals. It’s also planned to have sushi, an area for made-to-order sandwiches, and a wall devoted to nuts and other snacks, according to the release.
