Dump truck rolls over on I-93 north in O’Neill Tunnel, snarling morning commute

The truck spilled gravel across three travel lanes, according to police.

Some commuters had a longer-than-normal morning drive Monday, as a dump truck rolled over on Interstate 93 north inside the O’Neill Tunnel just after 8 a.m. and spilled gravel across three travel lanes, according to state police.

Delays and detours followed, officials said, with lanes reopening just before 10 a.m.

According to 7News, the driver — a 30-year-old Mattapan man — was taken to a hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, and the cause of the crash remained under investigation later Monday morning.
