Sen. Elizabeth Warren has tested positive for COVID-19 with a breakthrough case, according to a tweet from Warren on Sunday.

The 72-year-old Massachusetts senator said she is vaccinated and received her booster shot. In the tweet, she said she is only experiencing mild symptoms.

“I regularly test for COVID & while I tested negative earlier this week, today I tested positive with a breakthrough case,” Warren wrote. “Thankfully, I am only experiencing mild symptoms & am grateful for the protection provided against serious illness that comes from being vaccinated & boosted.”

Warren encouraged others to get vaccinated and boosted and linked a CDC website with COVID-19 vaccine information.

“As cases increase across the country, I urge everyone who has not already done so to get the vaccine and the booster as soon as possible – together, we can save lives,” Warren wrote.
