Police arrest 2, recover drugs and ammunition after raiding a market in Mattapan

A police raid of a MattapanĀ market Saturday morning led to two arrests and uncovered marijuana, ammunition, and paraphernalia related to the illegal sale of drugs, according to the Boston Police Department.

Jamal Forrest, 39, of Hyde Park, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute class D drugs (marijuana), police said. Felucia Stevens, 33, of Dorchester, was arrested and charged with disorderly persons, drinking in public, and resisting arrest, according to police.

Police received multiple tips telling them that drugs were being sold at D&D Market on Blue Hill Avenue, leading them to execute a search warrant of the market just before noon on Saturday. Officers recovered about a pound-and-a-half of marijuana, 23 rounds of ammunition, $180 in cash, as well as scales, packing, and papers used to distribute illegal drugs, according to police.
