Police thank public for helping capture road rage suspect

Sharon police thanked the public for helping track down a man who they say assaulted another driver in front of that driver’s children.

Alexander Nguyen has been arrested.

Alexander Nguyen has been arrested.

The road rage incident happened on June 12, when Alexander Nguyen, 21, got out of his black Acura MDX and “assaulted the victim while the victim’s children watched from the back seat,” according to the Sharon Police Department.

Nguyen then left the scene and Sharon police posted a description of the suspect on its Facebook page on Friday. On Saturday, Nguyen showed up at the police station, where he was arrested, according to police.

Nguyen was charged with assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, threats to kill, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace.

Sharon police thanked the public for sharing its original post about the incident, saying Nguyen was arrested, in part, due to the public’s assistance.

He is scheduled to be arraigned on Monday in Stoughton District Court.
