Dentist accused of indecently assaulting patient in Worcester
A Worcester dentist was arrested Monday after allegedly indecently assaulting an adult patient, Worcester police said in a statement.
Around 11 a.m., police responded to a report of a woman having been indecently assaulted. The 35-year-old woman said during her 9 a.m. appointment with her long-term dentist, Dr. Nikilkumar (Nikhil) Patel, 54, he touched her inappropriately on several occasions, according to police. The woman said she immediately got up from the dentist chair and left the office, police said.
After the sexual assault unit met with the woman, officers went to the dentist’s office at 130 Lincoln St. and took Patel into custody, after a brief conversation with him.
Patel, who lives in Shrewsbury, was charged with indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Worcester County District Court Tuesday.
