A man arrested last week in connection with a Roxbury shooting — where police say he had his 9-year-old son with him — is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
Juan Ayala-Powell was arrested Friday after a Thursday night shooting that injured a man, Boston police said.
The next day, police were searching for both Ayla-Powell and his son, Kelvin Martins. The boy was found around 12:30 p.m. in Dorchester, and Ayla-Powell was found a short time later.
Ayla-Powell is charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, kidnapping and endangering a minor by a relative and other related gun offenses, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s office.
He appeared in Roxbury Municipal Court on Monday afternoon and was held on $150,000 bail, the DA’s office said. He is expected back in court September 14.
