BROCKTON, Mass. (AP) — An 18-year-old man has been charged in the stabbing death of his mother.
The Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office says Frantz Polynice has been charged with homicide and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Polynice is accused of killing his mother, 44-year-old Mania Meneide.
Brockton police responded to a 911 call for a report of a person stabbed Wednesday afternoon. When they arrived on the scene they found Meneide suffering from multiple stab wounds. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A motive for the stabbing is unknown.
Polynice is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Brockton District Court.
It’s unclear if he has an attorney who can comment on the charges.
