Man killed in Mattapan shooting and crash identified

A man who died on December 3 after being shot and crashing his vehicle in Mattapan has been identified by police.

Daquon Brown, 23, of Boston, was pronounced dead at the scene, Boston police said in a statement Thursday.

Around 12:12 a.m. on December 3, officers responded to the area of Alpine and River streets for a report of a crash.

Police said a vehicle had struck a residence and they found Brown suffering from apparent gunshot wounds at the scene. The original shooting happened in the area of Tileston and Rosemont streets, officers later determined.
