Police seeking public’s help in locating car related to fatal Dorchester shooting

The vehicle is being sought for "investigative purposes only," and the person pr persons related to this vehicle are not wanted at this time, police stressed.

Boston police are seeking the public’s help in locating a car in connection with a fatal Dorchester shooting that occurred on September 20.

Around 8:06 p.m. on September 20, officers responded to the area of 55 Downer Ave. for a report of a person shot, police said in a statement Thursday.

Officers found a man, later identified as 21-year-old Jonathan Cardoso, of Dorchester, suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the statement. Cardoso was taken to Boston Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said they are searching for a blue 2003-2005 Honda Accord coupe in connection with the shooting. The person or persons related to the vehicle are not wanted at this time, according to the statement, adding the car is being sought for “investigative purposes only.”
