5 shot, 1 fatally, in pair of July 4th shootings in Boston

No arrests were announced in either shooting.

BOSTON (AP) — One man has been killed and four others injured in a pair of holiday shootings just blocks apart in Boston.

Police say a man in his 30s was fatally shot in the area of Brookford and Dacia streets in the city’s Dorchester neighborhood just before 10 p.m. Wednesday.

The victim was found in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. His name was not immediately made public.

The shooting came about three hours after four men were shot a few blocks away in Dorchester. One of those victims, described being between the ages of 22 and their late 40s, was critically hurt. No names were released.
