Boston police arrested a Mattapan man they believe is connected with snatching several women’s purses and stabbing some of them.

Walker Browning, 25, is expected to face charges of armed robbery, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, and intent to rob while armed at his arraignment scheduled for Dorchester District Court, according to a news release.

The latest victim said her purse was taken and she was stabbed in the leg near 643 Walk Hill Street. Officers responded around 10:53 p.m. Monday, but Browning allegedly fled the scene, police said. The victim was transported to a local hospital.

“Detectives immediately recognized the description as that which had been provided by previous victims of similar robberies in the area,” police said.

Detectives searched the area and found Browning, who had a knife, according to the release.
