70-year-old man killed in Roxbury stabbing, police say

Edward Mowring, of Roxbury, was killed on Blue Hill Avenue Saturday night, according to authorities.

Police are investigating a stabbing that took the life of a 70-year old man in Roxbury Saturday night.

Officers responded to a radio call for a medical emergency near 49 Blue Hill Ave. around 9:57 p.m., according to a statement from Boston police.

When they arrived, they found Edward Mowring, of Roxbury, suffering from multiple stab wounds, police said. He was declared dead at the scene.

Officials were investigating the incident Monday and asked anyone with information to call homicide detectives at 617-343-4470. Anonymous tips can be made by calling 1-800-494-TIPS or by texting “TIP” to CRIME (27463), police said.
