Two teen girls robbed a bank in Fall River, police say

One of them allegedly demanded money or else "she would blow everything up and kill everybody," officials said.

Two teenage girls were allegedly involved in a Fall River bank robbery Wednesday, including a 14-year-old who police say threatened to “blow everything up” unless her demands were met.

The juveniles, whose names were not released, were arrested by Fall River police after officers tracked their car back to a Mulberry Street home, according to a statement from authorities.

Police were dispatched to Bay Coast Bank, at 81 Troy St., around 3:45 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery.

On arrival, an officer was told the female suspect was about 5-feet, 6-inches tall and wore a dark blue sweater with New England Patriots symbols on it and black leggings, officials said.

She allegedly provided note “demanding money or she would blow everything up and kill everybody,” the statement said.

“The female held her two hands tightly as if she was concealing something,” authorities said in the statement. “The female obtained an undetermined amount of U.S. currency and fled on foot towards Troy Street. A description of the suspect was broadcast.”

Detectives at the scene reviewed camera footage, which helped them to determine that the suspect entered a “dark-colored Toyota Camry with another female” after she left the bank, officials said. They gathered the vehicle’s registration information, which led them to a Mulberry Street home.

At the residence, they saw a car matching the vehicle’s description in the backyard and noticed several people moving around the building’s first floor through the windows, police said. Authorities forced open the door after no one would open it, they said.

As detectives spoke to residents, one detective recognized the 15-year-old girl who entered the car with the robbery suspect, as she walked through the apartment, officials said.

“Detectives learned that there was an apartment in the basement and made their way downstairs,” police said in the statement. “While in the basement, a female emerged from the bathroom wearing black leggings similar to those of the robbery suspect. That female, age 14, was identified as the robbery suspect.”

Both girls were arrested and charged with armed robbery.
