A man allegedly broke into an Arlington bike shop

The incident occurred early Monday morning, police said.

A Somerville man allegedly broke into an Arlington bike shop and stole a bicycle early Monday morning.

Levi Russell, 23, was charged with breaking and entering during the night to commit a felony, according to a news release

Police went to Quad Cycles at 1043 Massachusetts Ave. around 3:09 a.m. after the shop’s security alarm went off, the release said. One of the doors to the shop had been smashed.

Police reviewed surveillance footage and said they saw a white man with curly dark red hair in his 20s break in around 3:03 a.m. He then allegedly took a Cannondale bicycle.

Police found Russell around 4 a.m. on Broadway, they said, noting that he matched the physical description of the person in the video footage and had a bicycle that looked like the one taken. He was then arrested.
