The Malden man accused of sexually assaulting someone in a Harrison Avenue business in Boston’s South End Sunday has been ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
Anthony Smith-Pacheco, 24, will go to Bridgewater State Hospital for a 20-day evaluation, according to Jake Wark, a spokesman for the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.
Smith-Pacheco appeared in Boston Municipal Court Tuesday on assault with intent to rape and indecent assault and battery charges. A dangerousness hearing is tentatively set for April 18.
The incident occurred around 2 p.m. Sunday, and police released a photo Monday asking for help identifying the suspect.
Smith-Pacheco was arrested in Malden on a warrant.
