A 53-year-old Yarmouth resident died of an apparent drug overdose earlier this month, and now the two men that allegedly sold the drugs are facing charges, Yarmouth police said.

Miles H. Taylor, 34, of Cranes Lane, Brewster, and Todd H. Brown, 33, of Kendrick Road, North Chatham, were arrested and each charged with distribution of a class A drug — heroin or fentanyl, and conspiracy to violate state drug laws.

Taylor was arraigned last Friday and released on $2,500 bail, while Brown was arrested Monday and held on $5,000 bail; his arraignment was scheduled for Tuesday.

Police were called to the resident’s unattended death in an apartment within the Swan Pond Village complex on Alewife Circle around 1 p.m. on March 6.

“There were obvious signs of illegal drug use — uncapped needle, a spoon with residue, a cotton ball, and Narcan—found at the crime scene,” police said on Facebook.

Yarmouth police worked with Brewster and Chatham police, as well as state police, for this case, they said.
