18-year-old accused of choking, biting girl at after-prom party in Vermont

The teen is facing two counts of aggravated assault.

An 18-year-old allegedly assaulted a girl at an after-prom party in a northern Vermont town overnight Saturday.

Vermont State Police said Michael Davis attended the party, which started Saturday, at a home on Buzzell Road in Newport Town and during the course of the evening he allegedly “engaged in several courses of assault” on the  juvenile female victim. The 18-year-old allegedly struck and bit the girl, leaving a visible injury. He is also accused of choking her at one point, impeding her breathing.

The assaults allegedly took place in the early hours of Sunday morning and were reported to police later that day. Davis was arrested on Sunday and charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
