Cambridge police have identified the man they believe is the barefoot assailant who allegedly hit a woman with a phone before attempting to pull her baby stroller last week.

The suspect, a 34-year-old Somerville man, is being evaluated at a local hospital and, therefore, remains publicly unidentified, police said. Charges against the man include kidnapping, assault and battery, assault to commit a felony, and attempting to commit a crime, according to authorities.

It was last Tuesday around 9:40 a.m. on Harvard Street near Prospect Street that the suspect allegedly began yelling at the victim and then hit her with a phone. He then pulled on the stroller, carrying her 1-year-old child, before taking off.
