A New Hampshire woman was arrested early Wednesday after allegedly driving on the wrong side of the highway for nearly 10 miles.

Shortly before 4 a.m., New Hampshire State Police received multiple calls from drivers who saw Rachel Barris’s red Subaru Forester traveling north in the southbound lanes of the Everett Turnpike in Bedford, according to a release.

“One caller stated this vehicle even passed through the Bedford Toll Plaza in the wrong direction,” police said.

Barris, 22, of Hollis, was eventually stopped by police after she entered Interstate 293 in Manchester, the release said.

She was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless conduct. Her arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 9 in Manchester District Court.
