A Mattapan woman working as a hired driver allegedly stabbed her passenger in Rockland, police say

The incident broke out during an argument, according to authorities.

A Mattapan woman working as a hired driver in Rockland was arrested Wednesday after she allegedly stabbed her passenger during an argument.

Lisa Roberto, 46, is facing several charges following the incident, which played out in the driveway of the victim’s Webster Street home, according to a statement from Rockland police.

Authorities were called to the scene around 11:16 a.m. where they found a 34-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds, officials said.

The woman, who was not identified, was brought to a local hospital where she remained in serious but stable condition Thursday, police said.

According to authorities, an investigation determined Roberto was driving the woman home when an argument broke out.

“During the altercation, the female victim was stabbed by the driver in the driveway of the home,” police said.

Roberto was arrested and charged with assault to murder while armed, aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, officials said.

She was slated to be arraigned in Hingham District Court.
