Boston detectives recovered five loaded firearms and over $7,000 while searching a Dorchester apartment as part of an ongoing armed robbery investigation, police said in a news release.

During the initial incident, police said a man allegedly robbed two victims at gunpoint before he was seen fleeing into the apartment in the area of 19 Olney St. and taken into custody.

After police executed a search warrant on the apartment around 1 p.m. Monday, they said they found five loaded guns — a 9mm Taurus handgun, a .357 Magnum Smith and Wesson revolver, a .380 caliber Taurus handgun, a 9mm Browning Arms, and a .380 caliber Lorcin handgun.

Detectives said they also recovered a “large amount of additional ammunition” and over $7,000.

The investigation was still active and ongoing. Police said they expected to file additional charges against the robbery suspect.
