A Boston man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly shoving a woman’s head into the ground and taking her lunchbox.

Boston police responded to a report of an assault and battery inside a parking garage at 710 Albany St. in the South End around 8 p.m., where officers learned that Boston University Medical Police had taken 58-year-old Tracy Johnson into custody, police said in a news release

The victim reportedly told police that Johnson asked her for money and when she ignored his request, he reached into her purse.

“The victim stated she struggled with the suspect, but eventually she fell to the ground where the suspect pushed her head into the ground before taking the victim’s lunchbox and her other possessions, including her car keys and glasses,” police said in the release. “The victim stated the suspect threw her possessions at her before fleeing with her lunchbox.”

After the incident, police said the woman was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for minor injuries.

Officers said Johnson is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court on charges of unarmed robbery of a person over 60 and assault and battery on a person over 60.
